Steel framed ROCKWOOL panels
A rock wool (or stone wool )panel is a building material made of two metal sheets with a core of rock wool insulation. The panels are used for industrial facades, room separation, and more.
How it's made
- Basalt, a volcanic rock, is heated to melt it
- The molten rock is spun into fibers
- The fibers are bound together to form insulating blocks
- The blocks are sandwiched between two metal sheets
Benefits
- Fire resistance: Rock wool's fire rating is Class A1, and it can withstand temperatures over 1000°C
- Insulation: Rock wool's thermal conductivity is 0.035W/mK, making it a good insulator
- Sound insulation: Rock wool can reduce noise transmission
- Water resistance: Rock wool sandwich panels are water resistant after installation
- Environmental protection: Rock wool helps reduce the environmental footprint of new buildings
Applications industrial facilities, public buildings, roof insulation, acoustic ceilings, and external cladding systems.
